Kimberly Moorman
Kimberly Moorman attended Ball State University where she earned her BS/BA in Music Education and Vocal Performance in 2002. She received a MM in Choral Music Education and a Performers Certificate from Northern Illinois University in 2007.
Kim currently serves as the director of choirs at Traughber Junior High in Oswego, IL, a position held since 2015 where she directs three non-audition grade-level choirs, an auditioned choir and the spring musical. Before beginning at Traughber, Mrs. Moorman directed the choirs at Huntley Middle School in DeKalb, IL from 2004-2014. Mrs. Moorman developed a curricular choral program and under her direction the choirs won numerous first place ratings at the District and State level of the IGSMA Choral Organizational Contest.
Since beginning her tenure at Traughber, her choirs have been selected to perform at IMEC 2016, have consistently received superior ratings at the SD308 Fine Arts Festival, Music in the Parks Festival and Dixie Classic Competitions. In 2017 & 2020, her students were chosen to travel to NYC to perform at Carnegie Hall as artists in residence with Distinguished Concerts International New York.
Kim and her family have been members of OPC since 2004. She has sung with the chancel choir since joining as well as assisting at the piano with a variety of Children's music programs at OPC, including VBS, the summer musical and CAST rehearsals. Kim took over the chancel choir and worship team leader position in 2019.
