Kenya Scholarship Program

The Missions Team invites your donations to the Kenya Scholarship Fund as our Advent Alternative Gifting opportunity. This fund was started in 2014 to help low-income families in Kithino Parish, our Kenyan partner church, continue their children’s education into high school and beyond. The Missions Team is very pleased to report that with your generous donations last year, we are currently sponsoring 52 college/university students as well as 123 high school students. Bwana Asifiwe! (Praise the Lord!)

There is government support for high schools and colleges, but many low-income families cannot cover the extra fees and uniform costs to continue their child’s education. The extra cost can be as low as $50 per year. A donation of just $50 can keep a child in high school ($125 for university). Rather than buying a Christmas tie for Uncle Bill, how about making a gift in honor of Uncle Bill to our Kenya Scholarship Fund? He will appreciate it and so will that family in Kenya. A gift card you could use for this can be found online or on the Kenya bulletin board. Your donation can be done either by check (with a “Kenya” notation) or donate online here. Providing a good education for their children is a high priority for our Kithino Parish brothers and sisters just as it is for us here at OPC. Please join us in making this a blessed Christmas for families struggling to keep their children in school. You will be blessed by making a difference in these Kenyans’ lives.
