Tom Sharpe feels blessed to be a part of OPC. Aside from his positions as worship musician and youth group leader, he is the drummer for the Grammy Award winning group Mannheim Steamroller, the number one selling Christmas artist of all time. Along with his heavy tour schedule, Tom is an internationally recognized, critically acclaimed composer, and the creator of his own group, the Tom Sharpe Ensemble. His original compositions have won many awards, including the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the Broadjam World Music Contest.
He is the former drummer of Dennis DeYoung from the famed rock group STYX. Tom is an alumni of the Interlochen Arts Academy, and holds the degrees Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from DePaul University, He is a sought-out clinician and artist in residence at schools from university to elementary level.
Tom enjoys a small private teaching practice and is dedicated to enriching the lives of children. Along with leading the Senior High Youth Group, Tom mentors in other ways, including being a CASA in Kendall County, and is also a part of the national Kids Hope program through OPC. Tom resides in Oswego with his daughter.
