Senior High
Youth Group
Supported By: Christian Education
Committee
Its Mission: The mission of the Oswego
Presbyterian Church Sr. High Youth Group is to sow the seed, to
nurture the need, to grow in our deeds and to harvest the freed. We
share the Truth of the Lord and His salvation, and instruct our
young people in how to practically apply these biblical and moral
principals in their lives. We strive to provide a safe environment
in which the youth can find acceptance and comfort, while at the
same time learning to accept Christ’s love and become uncomfortable
with mediocrity. We try to create a sense of intimacy, a sense of
family for everyone involved, and we work to share that love and
compassion with our community, our state, our nation, our world. We
exist to cultivate the fields, to equip each young person so that
they can go out and equip others in the name of God the Father
Almighty.
Who May Want To Join: Absolutely any
student in grades 9 thru 12. There are no prerequisites; everyone is
welcome.
Activities: We meet every Sunday night
from 7-9 – twice in small groups, once for large group discussion
and games, and once for praise, worship and devotion. We serve our
community through Hesed House and Habitat for Humanity . We serve
our world through mission trips during the spring and summer
months. We meet for fun and fellowship each Monday evening in the
summertime.
Individual Ministry Opportunities:
Everyone involved has an individual ministry opportunity; we are
called to be disciples to all nations and we are called to love our
neighbors as we love ourselves. The opportunities are walking all
around us and staring us in the face each time we look in the
mirror. The opportunity is to lead by example and to glorify God in
everything that we do and say.
Meetings & Time Commitments: Every
Sunday night from 7-9. Every month we also try to do a weekend
outreach event that lasts a few hours.
