Volunteers Wanted
Kendall
Co. PADS homeless shelter volunteer opportunities starting October
22.
Can
you help? The Mission Team is going on an adult mission
trip to Joplin, Missouri Oct. 30-Nov. 4 to help a low income family
rebuild their home damaged by the tornado three months ago. Our
estimated expense will be about $140 per person - sponsorships are
available if this is an issue. We need help with the work!
Email Ken Mozingo
if you think you may be able to go and/or would like more
information.

Adopt-A-Highway
Thanks!
Thanks to all who helped in the Feb. and May pickups!
information if interested in helping in future "pick ups".
Thanks
to all who helped at
Hesed House in the
past. We had more than enough hands (and
food) to serve everyone!

Stephen Ministry
has been in operation at OPC for 24 years. This ministry has been a
blessing to individuals, to the lay ministers and the whole
congregation. In order to continue and expand this ministry of care,
we are beginning another Stephen Ministry training class in
September. Take advantage of this opportunity to share the love that
God has given you. You will find that being a Stephen Minister will
not only be helpful to others, but it will be a fulfilling and
joyful experience. For more info contact
Ken or Kathy Mozingo or
Donna Beitel.
Thanks
to the many volunteers who helped with our
community garden
plot for the Kendall County Food Pantry. Our
Garden
Dedication was held on Sunday, August 14. Has
your own garden taken off? We invite you to share any extra
vegetables from your garden for our weekly drop-off to the food
pantry. Please bring your extra produce to OPC by Thursday at 10
a.m. in the crate by the mailboxes. |
