Dear OPC Family and Friends:
I have had the honor of being your Senior Pastor for twelve exciting and growing years. We have been through great changes together and have weathered challenges and celebrated accomplishments – all in the name of Christ our Lord!
Another change is upon us: Yesterday, Sunday June 29th, I accepted the Call to serve as Pastor at Linn Presbyterian Church in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The Call, when given the full approval from both Presbyteries, begins at Lake Geneva on August 11th, which means that my final Sunday at OPC will be August 10th.
Colleen and I have been in a prayerful period of discernment to determine how we can best serve God in the future. That discernment led us to Lake Geneva and we are grateful and excited for the opportunity to continue our journey of faith there.
OPC has meant so much to us—so many wonderful people; so many challenges of growth and discipleship. We have said goodbye to many and hello to many others. And now we will say goodbye to you all with heavy hearts and thankful memories. Thank you for your support and love over these years, for us and for our family. Thank you for listening and leading and following and praying and giving and loving.
Please know that I have appreciated being your Pastor and have learned a great deal from the excellent leaders here at OPC. Your future is a bright and faithful one. Pastor Kim will continue her creative and caring ministry here. You will find an Interim Head of Staff and then a Called Head of Staff and those persons will be as honored to serve you as I was.
Keep the Faith. I know you will.
Pastor Terrance P. Hennesy,
Senior Pastor and Head of Staff.
